Public opinion of health and wellness is ever-changing. Recent years have seen a serious shift toward all-natural, whole-body wellness, with a greater focus on stress reduction, all-natural products, and organic living. So, if you are also ready to jump on the bandwagon, here are 7 health and wellness tips you must heed right now.

    1. Diversify Your Fitness

Gone are the days of treadmills and and weight machines as your fitness staple. There isn’t a health conscious person out there who hasn’t at least considered getting into a health and wellness program like yoga or CrossFit. And with good reason!

Advancements in technology and research are letting us in on the secrets of maximizing our fitness: diverse exercises and utilizing natural human movement. Yoga and CrossFit are both exercise regimens that work help your body move naturally. The exercises also vary constantly, allowing you to work out all different parts of your body in different ways. Because the workouts are always changing, you keep from getting bored, too.

    1. Let Beauty Bloom from the Inside

We all know that inner beauty is every bit as important as what’s on the outside. But our outer beauty is often a reflection of our personal health and wellness. Looking great and feeling great both from eating great.

We’re not just talking about eating a healthy, diverse, all-natural diet, here, (we know you know that). What you may not realize are how many herbal supplements and natural nutrients are now readily available to help you look, feel, and be as healthy as possible. From super-herb adaptogens like panax ginseng and ashwagandha to essential oils like oregano — which has more uses than we have time to talk about — you get out what you put in, so put in the best.

    1. Let Oil Replace Your Staple Cleansers

Still thinking that oils cause acne? One important health and wellness tidbit that people are learning is that this is a bit of a misconception. In fact, oil is one of the best, all-natural face cleansers available. Especially if you use a quality, organic oil that is known to nourish skin, such as coconut oil or jojoba oil.

Use a plant-based — not petroleum based! — cleansing oil can be particularly helpful to those who suffer from dry skin. As winter comes along, and you find your face dry, cracking, and itchy, toss those skin-dehydrating soaps for a natural alternative.

    1. Work Out Your Brain, Daily

You know, you can strengthen your brain like a muscle, right? Yep, and practicing meditation is like brain-day at the gym. Oh, you’re already really smart so you don’t need to? Well are you really calm? Are you really happy? Can you move things with your mind? (Just kidding.)

But really, a few minutes of meditation a day does more for your immediate well-being than you can even imagine. Stress undoes health and meditation undoes stress, so grab a meditation cushion, set aside a few moments for yourself, and create a little peace in your life.

    1. Treat Yourself

Go to a spa; get a massage. Really. You have our permission to put yourself first for a little bit. It’ll do you good, and you know what they say: what’s good for the goose is good for everybody around that goose. Not to mention there are some scientifically-based health benefits to a good pampering massage: improved circulation, release of toxins, reduction of the stress-hormone cortisol.

    1. Do Shots

Yeah, you heard right! Do shots! No, not vodka, silly — we’re talking about healthy shots, of course. Juice shots are the new big thing in the organic wellness world, and the options go well beyond wheatgrass, these days. Mangosteen, acai, goji berry, spirulina, and matcha are all packed with antioxidants and growing in popularity at juice bars. They taste a bit, um, strong, which is why you’ll want to take them in one big gulp, but if you’re a chlorophyll connoisseur feel free to sip them neat. Either way, make these healthy super-juices a part of your diet.
